Description
The USS Truxtun (DDG-103), a United States Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, leaves its port on the York River with the assistance of tugboats. The ship is named for American Naval hero and founding father of the U.S. Navy, Commodore Thomas Truxtun. It's motto, "Pursue Attack Vanquish," the destroyer was commissioned in 2009 and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Side note: The ship was a filming location for the movie, "Captain Phillips."
